The STF24 Hour Challenge is a 24 hour individual or team relay race held at Shimpling Park Farm, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury in the very heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
You can enter solo, as a pair or as a team of up to 8 runners and the aim is to complete as many laps of our 5 mile course as possible in 24 hours. This is a test of speed, fitness, endurance, mental toughness, tactics and teamwork!
It doesn’t matter if you want to enter the event for fun and to spend a bit of time with your friends, or if you are a serious ultra-runner, everyone is welcome. The social side of the event will be amazing, and we guarantee you will meet some wonderful people and form some fantastic friendships along the way!
A bespoke buckle will be presented to anyone who completes 100 miles in 24hours.
The route is a 5 mile cross country course and will include stretches of footpaths, woodland and meadows. Suffolk Trail Festival is nestled in rolling organic countryside which makes for some beautiful views on an undulating course. Some of the course may be muddy and all terrain running shoes are advisable.
Please note this is a cupless race. Fresh drinking water will be available for you to refill your bottles but no cups will be provided. This is to reduce single use waste.

This event is staffed by volunteers and, while all efforts will be made to record finish times, the organisers take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately. The results have been contracted out to a third party and they will record the 24 hour times by chip timing. The organisers accept no responsibility for equipment failure or an inability to capture finish times in any way. Failure to secure your chip in line with the instructions or to lose it will mean your time is not recorded.
We use British Athletics rules in arriving at winners. Suffolk Trail Festival base their winners on the information supplied by the chip timing company and do not accept responsibility for any errors.
If an accurate race time is imperative to competitors we ask that they bring their own watches to record their times.
All times will be uploaded to the website hopefully from the Sunday evening. All recorded times are final and no dispute will be entered into.
Qualified First Aiders will be on hand at the race head quarters to assist with any emergency injuries. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health in competing in this event. The organisation will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.
If you are injured on the course please speak to one of the marshals who will contact the first aiders.
